Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dispatcher to join our seafood distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily deliveries, managing driver schedules, planning efficient routes, and ensuring timely transportation of fresh and frozen seafood products.

The successful candidate must have strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, along with experience in logistics, dispatching, or food distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch operations for seafood deliveries to restaurants, supermarkets, wholesalers, and other customers.

• Schedule drivers and assign delivery routes based on customer orders, locations, and delivery deadlines.

• Monitor driver activities and ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time.

• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure orders are picked, packed, and loaded correctly.

• Manage refrigerated and temperature-controlled deliveries to maintain seafood freshness and quality.

• Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, traffic conditions, delivery instructions, and customer requirements.

• Prepare and maintain delivery schedules, shipping manifests, invoices, and bills of lading.

• Track shipments and update customers regarding delivery status.

• Resolve delivery delays, scheduling conflicts, and transportation issues efficiently.

• Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and transportation documentation.

• Assist with inventory coordination and order processing when required.

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, transportation requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, or distribution.

• Previous experience in a seafood, food distribution, or refrigerated transportation company is strongly preferred .

• Strong knowledge of GTA delivery routes and surrounding areas.

• Experience coordinating multiple drivers and delivery schedules.

• Familiarity with refrigerated trucks and temperature-sensitive products.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

• Experience using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, or transportation management systems is an asset.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to work independently and coordinate with warehouse and transportation teams.

Ideal Candidate
